AUDUBON ARTS (June 24 - August 3)

Preschool - high school. This summer program for children and teens has been an NMS favorite for more than 30 years. The highly regarded theater program for ages 14-17, led by experienced professionals, will present a full production of "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying." Junior Chamber Winds

June 29-July 5 (no class Sunday, June 30, and Thursday, July 4). A high-quality, week-long chamber music experience with daily master classes for beginning/intermediate students grades 5-8 (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn). One year of playing is recommended. No chamber music experience required. Meets 9 a.m.-12 p.m.  
Fee: $350 if paid by June 7; after June 7, $375.

Chamber Winds

July 8-12. Intermediate or advanced high school, college and adult players will enjoy this opportunity to play and learn in a collaborative setting with other experienced musicians. Includes master classes and a final performance (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn). Meets Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Fee: $350 if paid by June 17; after June 17, $375

Summer Jazz

August 5-9. Ages 13 through adult. A five-day intensive that offers small ensembles, a big band, theory, master classes and jam sessions with NMS faculty and guest clinicians. NMS faculty helps you learn from the best! The week culminates with a student concert. Minimum of two years experience. Meets Mon.-Fri. 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Fee: $535 if paid by July 15; after July 15, $575.

Summer Rocks!

August 12-16. Ages 11 and up. This week-long intensive features songwriting, performance, overview of recording and much more. Each day you'll be a part of: 

         •  Instrument-specific master classes
         •  Mini-classes, including songwriting and instrument effects processing
         •  Classes that introduce the basics of live sound, voice and more!

Meets Mon.-Fri. 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

PLAY-INS

Summer Baroque

Ensemble playing for students of violin, viola, flute, oboe, recorder, cello, bassoon and viola da gamba. For those who can sight-read well. Music available for all. Mondays 6 - 8 p.m 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22. Pay per session or sign up for the entire series.
Fee: $150 for five weeks or $30 per session.

The Open Door Viol Consort Sessions

Ensemble playing for viol students from intermediate to advanced. Wednesdays 6 - 8 p.m., 6/26,  7/3, 7/10, 7/17. Pay per session or for the entire series.

Glorious Music - Brandenburg Concerto Movements

Monday, July 29, 6-8:30 p.m. This single session is for violin, viola, cello, viola da gamba, flute and recorder players. Must be able to sight-read. The music may at times go out of woodwind range.

Rounds for Adults

Ages 16 and up. This course is open to singers and players (non-transposing instruments) with good sight-reading skills. There is much more to the round genre than the simple "Frere Jacques" or "Row, Row Your Boat." The sheer beauty and variety of styles will surprise, challenge and delight. This is round singing/playing for grown-ups. Wednesdays 6 - 7:30 p.m. 7/24, 7/31, 8/7.
Fee: $90 for the series of three sessions. Includes songbook.
