The Warner Scholarship Fund

In honor of Dr. Warner, NMS is presenting "Cocktails and Cabaret" on April 22, 2012, at 4 p.m. to benefit the Scholarship fund.

The Warner Scholarship Fund is a tribute to Dr. Regina M. Lilly-Warner, who was a tireless champion for music education in the New Haven Public School system. This fund supports New Haven Public School students pursuing instrumental music or dance studies at Neighborhood Music School, including participants in the Instrumental Impact program and the meritorious Warner Scholars Award, which recognizes exceptional New Haven Public High School musicians each year.

2012-13 Warner Scholars

  • David Elkin-Ginetti, saxophone and clarinet, is a 10th grader at Wilbur Cross H.S. and ECA. He plays in three NMS ensembles: the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra and the Premier Jazz Ensemble.
  • Lily Engbith, violin, is an 11th grader at Wilbur Cross High School. She is a member of the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra.
  • Justin Green, violin, a recent graduate of Hillhouse High School, is completing a gap year before pursuing a degree in violin performance. He is a member of the Greater New Haven Youth Orchestra.
  • Amber Knight, violin a recent graduate of CoOperative High School for the Arts and Humanities, is completing a gap year before pursuing a degree in music education.

In this, our 100th year, we hope to double the number of scholarships for New Haven Public School students to study at Neighborhood Music School (a 100 percent increase!). You can help us increase the number of opportunities for students to achieve academic success and a greater love of learning through the accomplishment experienced in music and dance instruction.

What a great way to celebrate a 100 year commitment to the New Haven community!  Please help us meet this challenge by making a contribution to the Warner fund now.  Your gift can help open opportunities for children throughout the New Haven school system.

Please consider an online donation to the Dr. Regina M. Lilly-Warner Fund at NMS.

Or, send your contribution payable to Neighborhood Music School/Regina Warner Fund, at 100 Audubon Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
